Websites for CPAs and bookkeepers
Websites for CPAs and bookkeepers that bring in the right clients.
An accounting firm's website should do two things: help the right clients choose you, and keep their financial documents out of email. We design and build fast, custom websites for CPAs, bookkeepers and tax preparers that explain your services and niche in plain language, connect to your secure client portal, and are set up for local search. Builds cost $2,500 to $4,500, plus $150/month for hosting and care.
01 / What clients look for
Answer the questions a new client has before they call.
People looking for an accountant are usually comparing a few firms and trying to answer one question: is this the right fit for someone like me? The firm that answers it clearly gets the call. Every site we build for an accounting firm makes these easy to find:
- What you do: tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, advisory, or a mix
- Who you work with: individuals, small businesses, or a niche like contractors or medical practices
- Whether you're taking new clients, especially during tax season
- How you charge and what working with you looks like, step by step
- Your credentials (CPA, EA) shown exactly as you hold them
- Where you are, your hours, and how to reach a real person
- A clear way to get started, and a separate, secure way to send documents
Clients who read all of that before calling tend to be better fits, so you spend less time on consultations that go nowhere.
02 / Documents and privacy
Keep tax documents off ordinary web forms.
Tax preparers handle exactly the kind of information that identity thieves want, and the FTC Safeguards Rule expects firms to protect it. A regular website form sends an email, which is fine for "please call me about my return" but not for W-2s, bank statements or Social Security numbers.
So we separate the two. Your site's own forms collect only a name, contact details and a short message, and they say plainly not to include financial information. Everything else goes through the secure client portal your firm already uses, with a clear "Client login" link in the header and a short guide for new clients.
The site itself has no database, customer accounts or admin login, which keeps it simple to secure.
03 / Local search
Built to be found by business owners nearby.
"CPA near me" and "bookkeeper for contractors" are high-value searches. Every build includes the basics that help Google and AI search tools understand and recommend you:
- A fast site. Ours are custom-built with no page builder, so pages load quickly on any device, even on a slow mobile connection.
- A page for each service you want to grow, and for each niche you serve, written in the words clients search for.
- Your firm name, address and phone number, matched exactly to your Google Business Profile.
- Structured data that tells search engines you're an accounting firm, what you offer and when you're open.
- Google Search Console setup and a sitemap at launch, plus permanent redirects from your old site.
One honest note: rankings take time, and Google decides them. Your competition, your Google Business Profile, your reviews and how long you've been in business all play a part, so we won't promise you page one. Be wary of anyone who does. Google's own advice is that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking. What we can promise is that your website won't be what's holding you back.
04 / Pricing
What an accounting firm website costs.
Three fixed prices, with no hourly billing during the build:
- Essential, $2,500: up to 5 pages. Good for a solo bookkeeper or tax preparer.
- Studio, $3,500: up to 10 pages, with a keyword plan, copy editing and a visual refresh. Room for a page per service and a niche or two.
- Signature, $4,500: up to 15 pages, with location pages and booking or review integrations. For multi-partner or multi-office firms.
Every site runs on the $150/month Hosting & Care plan: hosting, SSL, security updates, daily backups, uptime monitoring and a monthly report. Content changes aren't included and are quoted separately. You pay 50% to start and the balance at launch, and you own your domain and site files. Compare the packages in detail.
